About Dr. Smith
Dr. Kevin Smith is an ABOM diplomate and has 5 years of experience in academics as an assistant professor of internal medicine. Dr. Smith is passionate about board preparation and obesity medicine. In his own preparation for the ABOM examination, he found it difficult to find challenging, up-to-date questions that covered the extensive topics found on the exam. Thus, he combines his aspirations and bridged the gap with Obesity Medicine Board Review Questions.
Dr. Smith has an extensive background in board review education, being the director of one of the largest preclinical board review question banks in the country for the past 6 years, and a question author for 3 years prior. He has also had a chapter published, "Hormones of Obesity Care: PYY, Ghrelin, GLP-1, and GIP," in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Examination and Board Review (McGraw Hill).
Currently, Dr. Smith is an internal medicine provider in South Dakota, where he resides with his wife, three daughters and two very spoiled dogs.

In 2020, the first edition of Obesity Medicine Board Review Questions was released with 150 board-style questions. In 2023, Obesity Medicine: Practice Tests was added to provide additional unique rapid assessment style questions to cement core topics. In 2024, the online Q bank, was developed to provide the same questions, but in an online test-simulation format.
Since the initial publication, there have been significant updates and additions. The next edition is planned to be released in early 2025. Over 700 questions will be available through the books or the online Q bank with custom illustrations, algorithms, and tables to accompany the high-quality explanations. Dr. Smith’s board review questions have become one of the most popular and highly rated ABOM study resources available.
